OT: Rummy selling his
lunatic BS again:

We also should be aware that the struggle is too important — the consequences too severe — to allow a "blame America first" mentality to overwhelm the truth that our nation, though imperfect, is a force for good in the world.

Consider that a database search of the nation's leading newspapers turns up 10 times as many mentions of one of the soldiers punished for misconduct at Abu Ghraib than of Sgt. 1st Class Paul Ray Smith, the first recipient of the Medal of Honor in the global war on terror.

1. now it's the "global war on terror"...
I guess the Bush junta has figured that the American people have figured out that Iraq had nothing to do with the "war on terror".

---------------

The sad thing is - our nation, imo, has been and can continue to be a "force for good in the world". It is beyond despicible that Rumsfield and the crooks he represents, after what they have done these last five years, should try to claim that mantle.

---------------

He is truly deranged.

2. Does he realize the same thing would have been
truer in 1970. There were far more mentions of Lt Calley than of any medal of honor winner. My Lai was far bigger news. There are also more mentions of Andrea Yates than there were of any mother of 5 kids who was honored by her community as an excellent mother.

3. Well, that makes sense to most of us.
But when you're looking for propaganda, that pesky 'news' stuff just tends to get in the way.
