Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-Mich.) will host a forum entitled "Truth in Advertising: How You Are Affected by the Practices of Advertising Agencies and Their Clients" on Thursday, September 7. The panel discussion will take place during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's (CBCF) 36th Annual Legislative Conference. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), top Democrat on the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, will be a guest speaker at the event. The forum will include a broad discussion on advertising practices and how they impact minorities. Sen. Kerry will discuss the federal government's failure to implement federal policy to increase minority advertising contracting opportunities. Congresswoman Kilpatrick is one of the Co-Chairs of the CBCF Annual Legislative Conference.
