AMHERST - Groundbreaking on a $92.7 million Integrated Science Building and a student voting rally will bring high-profile elected officials to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst campus tomorrow.
The Student Government Association is organizing a visit by U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry, D-Mass., at 2 p.m. in the Campus Center Auditorium. Kerry, who lost the 2004 presidential election to President Bush, will talk about the importance of student voting.
At 1:30 p.m., U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy will join U.S. Reps. John W. Olver and Richard E. Neal, all D-Mass., and state Rep. Ellen Story, D-Amherst, and UMass officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Integrated Science Building on North Pleasant Street.
