3. Isn't he also in New Hampshire this week too?
Wolf brought this up on Sunday. Now why on earth would a nice young man like John Kerry be hanging out in Iowa and New Hampshire???

(p.s. Yes I know he's going a bunch of other places too. He's great like that)

4. Why he was just being a good neighbor in checking on NH
After all, we share football and baseball allegiances with the good people of the Granite State. It was right neighborly of him to go to NH and offer to go door to door for the Democratic Party, especially after the New Hampshires Sr. Senator, Judd Gregg, was so rude to him on the Senate floor last week. (What a prince of a guy to turn the other cheek like that and go on up to NH. )

And there are good and dear friends in Iowa that you just hate to fall out of touch with, cuz that would be a shame. A downright shame. Certainly no one would begrudge the past nominee of the Democratic Party from helping some friends who did, after all, help him in the last cycle.

Nothing to see here, move along, now, move along. (Honestly, there are weird rules to these invisible primaries. Very odd rules that nevertheless, must be obeyed.)

5. Also, it would be amusing to see the surprised looks
when you open your door and see that very familiar face. (As to Gregg, maybe his weird ridiculous, unSenatorial (NH is not MA, but they likely hope their Senators are at least sane) behavior will hurt him when he runs again.

8. Kerry says voters more receptive now to his message

September 15, 2006

Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry said at the outset of a trip to Iowa today that the nation’s voters are more open now than two years ago to the message he campaigned on as the 2004 Democratic nominee for president.

Although a decision about whether he will mount a second bid for the White House is “down the road,” conditions in the country have worsened since his narrow loss to President Bush, he said in a telephone interview.

“I think the American people can understand I lost to a lie about Iraq and lie about me personally,” Kerry said while en route to Iowa. “I think people will say, Kerry was right about the war, he was right about health care, he was right about energy policy.

“I think people wouldn’t mind having a president who knows how to get it right,” he added.

Strange how Sen Kerry always manages to get in pics where everyone is smiling.
How does he do that?

12. Wow, great pics!
I love the blue "VOTE" hats too.

Damn, it seems strange though....it almost looks like John Kerry is "connecting" with people in that picture...but it can't be, can it? The MSM says he "doesn't connect" and we know they wouldn't lie to us, right?

14. Photoshop?
Maybe there was a pony or balloons or something there, and some ingenious photoshopper CUT OUT the pony, and put a stock pic of the Senator in it's place.
People do love ponies.

16. Dear Senator Kerry,
people in South Carolina love college football more than life itself (Wink, wink. Hint, hint. Primary, primary.)

Love, IB

These are great photos! It's so good to see young people so excited about meeting a politician. Now if JK could just work on that aloofness problem ...

17. Tsk, tsk, tsk ...
See, you've been taken in by the APPEARANCE of Sen Kerry connecting with these people. Although it LOOKS like he is having a great time talking to the kid in the pic, and even though is SEEMS that the other folks looking on are joining in the fun, what some say is that the kid has told him how concerned he is over some issue or other, and the Senator is obviously replying "Tell it to Harkin, kid, I've got better things to do."
No, he's aloof alright. I heard it from Hannity AND O'Reilly.

I'm sure you're right - JK is probably smiling just to mask the pain of being in the company of people who are smiling just to mask the pain of being in his company. I think I need to go and readjust my Aloofness Detector now.

21. Another instance of 'Can you find John Kerry'
Ahm, yeah, really, really easily. He's wicked tall.

Obviously, someone didn't take their aloof pills that morning. Sigh, they are slipping back into talking to real people mode and enjoying it. This has to end. How are Mass-souls supposed to maintain their habit of being unemotional, wooden and aloof if this keeps happening.

If this keeps up, it's going ruin the image for the rest of us. Sigh!

28. What utter shit
That person has had to have seen numerous posts on Kerry over the years. They're a regular poster and member since July 2003. That's a stirring up shit post if I ever saw one. I will never ever understand what motivates people to be such complete and total assholes. I won't respond because that's the only thing I could imagine saying... "speaking of assholes"...

22. A Kerry Good Time
You have to see this. Today's Iowa paper has the same text as an article I saw yesterday, but today's headline is "A Kerry Good Time " and there's a photo of JK with a bunch of PYT Iowa students who are offering the good senator ... a "beer bong"! (I'm too old to know what that is, but it looks like it was a goodtime for all)

26. He's really done it this time.
How on earth is he going to maintain the distant and unapproachable label with all the evidence of smiling supporters and young, happy people almost forcing him to have a beer with them?
This is almost as bad as the throngs of people following him down the street last weekend.
I think this proves he's actually *shudder* FRIENDLY!
OMG.

30. THanks for posting that
I'm also too old to know what a beer bong is. I loved Kerry's comment here:

Sen. John Kerry had his assessment of the Iowa-Iowa State rivalry ready as he met with media and football fans at a tailgate party Saturday morning.

"I know Iowa is ahead in the rivalry," he said before Iowa defeated Iowa State 27-17 at nearby Kinnick Stadium. "It's a big rivalry, second only to congressional Republicans against prosecutors.

27. More Kerry in Iowa

Kerry leads the cheers at 'Pigskin, Politics'
By KELSEY HOLM, Courier Staff Writer

WATERLOO --- U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., was greeted by a backyard full of star-struck fans and Democratic supporters Saturday.

The event, dubbed "Pigskin and Politics" --- in a nod to the afternoon's University of Iowa vs. Iowa State University football game --- was held at State Sen. Jeff Danielson's home and was a fundraising effort for Danielson, State Rep. Bob Kressig and Iowa House candidate Doris Kelley.
