Kerry pushes for Dems in key New Hampshire racesSeptember 13, 2006
CONCORD, N.H. --Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry says the key to keeping New Hampshire a "blue state" in 2006 is the re-election of Democratic Gov. John Lynch and support for two Democratic congressional candidates.
Kerry won the Democratic presidential primary in New Hampshire two years ago and narrowly defeated President Bush in the state's general election. Kerry also is trying to line up support for another presidential run in 2008.
Lynch is running for a second term against Republican state Representative Jim Coburn.
Kerry also said he will be campaigning alongside Democrats Carol Shea-Porter in the First Congressional District and Paul Hodes in the Second District.
Shea-Porter upset state Representative Jim Craig in the Democratic primary yesterday and now faces another uphill battle against incumbent Republican Jeb Bradley. Hodes faces a rematch with Republican congressman Charles Bass, who defeated him by a wide margin two years ago.
