Sorry, guys, I just HAVE to share this with you, in light of all the ugliness and defaming of John Kerry's character in 2004. I'm sure you are all well verse in the startling revelations coming out weekly and now daily about George Felix Allen. Just awful stories of racism, bullying, and even cruelty. So I was on a Virginia blog reading through the comments, and finally, some Republicans stopped by. They're all "suspicious" about this new N-word story, even claiming the NYT FABRICATED the story (so I guess they forgot that the most famous fabricated stories are from Judith Miller and the WMD in Iraq which benefited Bush/Cheney). And then this comment came across:
I've been in Virginia politics since some of these bloggers were either in diapers or toddlers.
In all my time, I have never seen the level of character assasination that seems to be running rampant on this site and others. That includes the 1994 Senate Race -- which for you neophytes, I commend you to watch either the "Perfect Candidate" or "ollie's Army." -- these were two political documentaries filmed in the MTV "Real World" style.
Just where in all of this garbage does Jim Webb plan to get his message out?

Luckily, somebody called him on it:
"In all my time, I have never seen the level of character assasination that seems to be running rampant on this site and others...."
Perhaps you missed the Swift Boat ads a couple years ago.

First and foremost, these charges of racism are true. The evidence is overwhelming and recent. The guy was caught on VIDEO TAPE calling a person of color a racial slur!!! All this other stuff would NOT have gotten legs without it.
Secondly, I think we've learned something here. These Republicans are THIN SKINNED. They can dish out lies with abandon, but when their guy feels the heat -- it's all just "not fair". Well too bad. You started the war, and now you're surprised to find we're shooting back?
Let's make Allen the symbol of how the Republicans went DOWN this year, and their dominance ended. They have become a mean and nasty party, eager to lie about others, to bully the weakest among us, and wage war with abandon. I say to HELL with them!
We're going to win in 2006! I feel it in my bones.
