Does it seem to anyone else that the repukes are afraid of something?


They are almost doing a mini filibuster praising Gonzales. I have never seen anything like this! It is as if they are preventing the Dems from speaking! Did we pick up some Reugs against Gonzales or something? Could the nomination be in jeopardy

1. beyond the pale

How can there be ANY question that this guy is not good for America? And we thought Ashcroft was bad. What a den of thieves. What a slippery slope this country is on.

They were just lining up a speaking schedule for today, Wednesday and Thursday--that seems to me to be a long time.

2. I find this to be so

totally disheartening, I'm having trouble keeping my sense of humor.

Some of these repukes were once people I had respect for, even if I disagreed with them. It seems they now have kool-aid running in their veins in place of blood.

3. Didn't prevent Kennedy from going after them

4. The Dems are starting to stand up to them

This is not what they expected. They expected the Dems to meekly lay down and accept their fate as Senatorial doormats. The Rethugs are trying to figure out what is goinng on.

Right now, they have not yet arrived at a killer message. They are spinning their wheels on the 'but he/she is a minority' thing or the 'this is sour grapes over the elction' thing or just the usual Rethug retorts. It is outside of their ken that Dems would stand on principle, stand because it is the right thing to do. The Rethugs haven't figured out yet how to respond, so they are mailing it in. (I know it sounds bad, but trust me, they are mailing it in so far.)

This is going to get real interesting and real nasty. Stay tuned, the insults and nasty remarks are just beginning to go back and forth.
