Wow, I love you guys
I was quite busy tonight (out actually doing something in the real world... I know, hard to believe there's a life outside DU), but when I logged on here around 4 am central time, I arrive to at least three comments directed at me. Whome, your post about the Kerry event tonight had me in tears. I wish I could've been there so much. (You DID tell him I'd have his babies, right?) I can't believe how much I love this man. I hope I get a chance to tell him someday how much he means to me (and no, you pervs, I'm actually being *serious* for once. Although I wouldn't mind showing him how much he means to me in other ways, either....). And TayTay, congrats on 1000 posts! Again, RL interfered with DU tonight, but tomorrow, we should definitely get some kink on. I'll be rarin' to go. And Kleeb, I'm sure your eulogy for your nana will be wonderful - it's obvious that you put your heart into showing everyone how much she meant to you. And Faye... thank you SO MUCH for creating this paradise. Really, I cannot thank you enough. This forum has saved my sanity countless times during the hell that is the post 11/2 world, and has enabled me to meet all of you. So thank you Faye for your persistence in getting this group together.

So, in sum, I'm really emotional tonight for some reason. I really love John Kerry so much - it's sort of frightening to me how much he's come to mean to me. And, aw shucks, I love you guys too. I love that you think about me when I'm not around, and that I actually in some small way make an impact on you all. I am glad we were brought together by love for this wonderful man, and hopefully I'll get to meet you for real sometime this summer. And I guarantee you, the minute JK announces his 2008 presidential bid, I am volunteering to work full time on the campaign. I get out of college in 2007 (hopefully), so I will finally get a chance to give back to John Kerry what he's given to me - hope.

Oh God, I'm about to cry again. (And no, I'm not drunk, I swear.) God bless John Kerry and all of you crazy Kerrycrats - you guys are the greatest.

1. That is so sweet!
And I feel very much the same way. This is a wonderful group of people, and the very first 100% supportive online group I've seen.

So, I love you back. And I love this online family. While I was at the event last night I really was looking around and trying to remember things that would interest certain people. Maybe that crosses the line from virtual friends to real friends.

2. awwwwwh, you the greatest, kiddo!
I love this forum too! Now WEL, I am glad that real life interferred with virtual life. I am still waiting to hear how your beloved Wisco... Ah, Illini team did. (Just kidding, that is behind us now, I know.) Seriously, one of the papers that I read every day is the Chicago Trib and I have been following your team. Good luck to them!

Isn't it amazing how much sanity you can save by hanging out with the right people. And I learn a lot here. It's great!

18. I guess Illinois got a big Sports Illustrated feature article
You know, being ranked #1 and being undefeated and all. But the issue is IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN in the state of Illinois. Certainly Champaign county is sold out, as well as all counties within a sixty or so mile radius.

Damn, I would've like to have read it, too.

3. Awwww, I love this group too
I can easily say that everyone in this group is great and everyone adds so much to it. We're the most active group and it surprises me how closeknit we are. If it wasn't for this group, I'd be long gone

4. Ahhh! Wel, That is sooo sweet!
I love all of you too.I am beginning to think only really nice people could like JK as much as we do. Any you know what , Whomtense? We all are real friends because we have already demonstrated the one essential quality for friendship, loyalty!
We aren't rushing to cast blame and abandon ship because our guy didn't give us everything we asked for right away. He gave us plenty though, and at least we are willing to try to understand the rest!
I don't pledge to always agree with him, or even to like "everything" He does. But I do pledge to try to understand and to respect him.
And that is exactly the way I feel we treat one another. Thank you all for being here and thank you Faye for giving us this oasis of sanity.A special tanks to WEL foe entertainment and John for being an inspiration for the future, and Vector for being a chief recruiter! But everyone deserves equal praise for being wonderful friends.:grouphug: :loveya:

6. I know, I'm new
but that got me all choked up, WEL. I have to say I share your sentiments re JK. I admire him even more since the election, and I didn't think that was possible. And, WhoMeTense, I so enjoyed your posts regarding your JK event. I wish I could get as excited about my senators, but, truth be told, I wouldn't even be seen in the same building with any of them. They sure don't work for ME. You are so fortunate.

I made myself cry too. ;-)

And never fear, I am unendingly grateful for my two wonderful senators. I'll always love Kerry the best, but when I saw Teddy on Meet the Press this morning kicking Russert's ass for being the slimy shit he is (quoting JK out of context to try and sow dissent between the two of them - a story for another post, I think...) I love him too. And seeing them together like they were Friday night made me really happy.

Just like you amazing Kerry forum people, they are there for each other. They don't need to be ideological twins. They both share the same values and goals, and that's enough. Just like it is for us. Too bad the rest of the government isn't the same way.

7. Sentimental Moments
Thanks WEL,

I miss you guys. I don't have much time for DU at the moment. I still pop in from time to time, but I do miss those late night parties

I do hope that we can meet this summer. That would be great. Thanks to all of you Kerrycrats. You are wonderful people. At the end of the day, it is nice to know that no matter where you are, you can always come home here.

9. Wel We All Love You Too
You are one of the wild ones here and you are a sincere Kerrycrat that's for sure. You will always be loved around here. I myself am very thankful to have people like yourself to talk to because no matter how bad a day it has been it is Kerrycrats like you that are there to remind all of us that we have a lot to be thankful for and you always have a way of cheering people up when they are down. And we all are here because we love John Kerry, our country, and we will fight like hell for both. The Kerrycrats are the greatest.:grouphug:

12. Let's all have a virtual hug.
I was reading this site--primarily whometense's thread--and cursing myself for going out last night rather than staying home in my PJs with a big mug of hot chocolate and some late-night snacks and Kerry Group.... I was thoroughly pissed when I got back, bad enough that I had a headache and went straight to bed--quite literally falling on it in my clothes with the lights still on and going to sleep. :-( Should've stayed where I know I'll have a good time.

This group has become very important, given me something to look forward to and fight for. I recall the long days not just during the campaign, but for me post-election, doing stuff long-distance for the fraud people, and I'd feel lost without people like you guys. I started off as an Edwards supporter but started to really like John Kerry right around the beginning of last summer, then realized that he was the better presidential candidate of the two of them.

Later I felt like I'd failed him. I'd been reading articles in computer magazines about how easy it would be to hack the vote, I was getting material from BBV, knew about all the "questionable" connections, but I didn't do anything about these thoughts... kept them in the back of my mind... I still get angry when I think of voting machines recording Kerry votes for *, or election workers talking of the ease with which they can change tallies, or companies testing machines completely in private, or recounts being rigged. I don't know if there was anything I personally could have done, but that's just it--I don't know. I almost--almost--hope that they can prove that it wasn't stolen, so I'll feel better about that, but I'm afraid that won't happen; I'm afraid it'll either be proven that it was stolen, or there won't be enough evidence preserved for them to find out what truly happened.

But the sadness and disgust has motivated me too to want to start early and make it up to the man somehow. So I'm hoping he gives me that chance by running again. Thanks whometense for the hopeful hints about that!

17. I meant Teresa Heinz, not Natalie Portman.
Cate Edwards is sexy and so are Vanessa and Alexandra Kerry. I used to love when they would get on the TV and defend their daddy.
