3. I hope it's in the first hour
That's the only hour XM broadcasts--and they delay it four hours! :( For tomorrow, I'll have to stream it online--can't wait four hours for JK. Ted Kennedy was on today, by the way--podcast should be up.

8. I was able to listen online on Chicago's WCPT
they provide both realmedia and windows media player vehicles. . Ed Schultz web page also lists a bunch of radio stations that broadcast later. Check out this list. In scrolling for a station that worked for me, I discovered that some stations are easier to use than others (some require registration, and a long delay while they send you a username, etc; and each radio station uses different audio software..
See http://www.wegoted.com/listen/index.asp for a list.

(And JK was great!)

I was surprised it was available so quickly.

JK was excellent. As usual, but even moreso. :-)

19. he puts his interviews up on Itunes
If you have I tunes you can subscribe to the podcast highlights for free. It may take a day or two. Worth listening. JK was very good---realistic, informed, and basically apolitical. It followed an interview with Edwards -- a stylistic contrast.

18. I listen via AAR-MN (Minnesota)
They carry Ed live: http://www.airamericaminnesota.com/node (You need to put in a MN zip code, so use 55414.) I use Real Player and have it in my Favorites on that, so just need to click on one thing to get it going.

10. He talked about many things, mostly Iraq
Bush has bet his Presidency on this gamble that the 'surge' will pacify Iraq and get the Iraqis to stand up and take over their own security. Kerry was asked if Bush looked funny giving the speech because Big Eddy thought Bush looked like he didn't believe the words he was speaking. Kerry replied that Bush look nervous and said he had reason to be nervous. This is his legacy as PResident, he's got nothing else.

Will you vote to pull the funding? Here is the way it will probably go down, was the answer. First there will be this non-binding vote. It might (emphasis might) pass but it won't do any good as Bush is unlikely to listen. So, step 2 is to pull funding for the escalation. (Note, not the war, but for the escalation alone.) That is a drastic step, but this Admin doesn't listen. It is highly unlikely that defunding the entire war will come up as no one wants to pull funding from troops currently in theater.

It was indeed nice to have the House pass the 9/11 Commission Recommendations through and he looks forward to voting on the whole House pacakge (raising mim. wage, voting for Stem Cell research funds, etc) when it comes over to the Senate. Yes, he feels vindicated because he did push for these things in the last Pres race.

Big Eddie said, at one point, that he was going over in his time allotment for that segment, because, ahm, you're John Kerry. LOL!

Ahm, Kerry wants the Patriots to win this big game this weekend in San Deigo against the Chargers. (Sorry Chargers fans. He thinks the line on the Chargers is 5+, but the Pats, under Brady could pull it off.)

Maybe even something GD P could appreciate.

13. What did Feingold mean yesterday?
Is he saying we should pull funding for the whole shebang or just the escalation?

14. Don't know. The war already HAS its funding for this year, but no doubt, they will
make any stripping of future funds sound like it is stripping the troops of protection TODAY.

16. I am not in favor of defunding the troops in theater right now
I am deeply in favor of not funding an escalation. I wanted to know where Feingold stood. I don't get him sometimes.

15. Here is the full quote

...
And now Congress must use its main power: the power of the purse to put an end to our involvement in this disastrous war.

And I'm not talking here only about the surge or escalation. It is time to use the power of the purse to bring our troops out of Iraq.

Over the next several weeks, I, and I hope many of my colleagues, will work together to take a hard look at exactly how we should do that, but it is time to use that power.
...

He seemed to be talking about redeploying the troops towards other places, and this would be consistent with the resolution he introduced earlier this month, and that was fairly similar to the Kerry-Feingold resolution (a 6 month window to pull out troops except for what is needed to finish training and fight terrorism).

20. Thanks for the heads up -- he was great on the show.
I think he said "hell" at least 3 times, so he was in a fighting mood. I also appreciated him bringing up his experience in a counterinsurgency war -- that experience is important (although not necessary) to understand what a policy means in reality. Yes, his heroism was important, but I always felt like the day to day experience he had in Vietnam was what was vital, in understanding what our troops face today in Iraq.
