FIRST SESSION

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wednesday, January 24, 2007

Presiding: Senator Biden

The Committee Will Consider and Vote on the
Following Agenda Items:

S Con Res 2, A Resolution Expressing the Bipartisan
Resolution on Iraq.

****************************

Curiouser and curiouser: this vote will happen the day AFTER the State of the Union Address, wherein Bush will plead for more war. This should be very, very interesting. Ahm, this type of debate is exactly why people worked so hard to elect Democrats. It is also exactly what Sen. KErry wanted to have happen, a serious discussion in the Congress about Iraq.

6. It isn't.
Sen. Kerry has said this many, many times. Al Qaeda is Sunni. However, the tensions were there before any Al Qaeda insurgents came in.

Sen. Kerry said that less than 1% of the insurgency was foreign terrorists. The rest is Iraqis settling old scores.
