I defer to you folks' instincts here. Which of the other
candidates, if any, will get Senator Kerry's endorsement?

I was thinking of Ted Kennedy's loyalty to Kerry, but now I have to shift gears.

Any thoughts?

1. None. Not yet
I would be surprised if Sen. Kerry made an endorsement this year. He doesn't need to do that, so I doubt he will.

3. Sounds right. Is it for sure that he's gearing up now for the
re-election to the Senate?

2. I don't think he'll endorse anyone. Nobody stands out to me, so
I doubt anyone will stand out to him. If Gore ran, OTOH, maybe, but none of the others.

He has varying ties with Obama and Edwards, who he elevated in '04. I can't see him endorsing Hillary. And certainly not the others.

5. You're right on Obama and Edwards, and I like your choice of
words ('elevated').

A friend of mine was absolutely CERTAIN that Kerry would choose Dick Gephardt for the 04 ticket and was flabbergasted when it turned out to be John Edwards.

(The same friend predicted a Gephardt landslide in the 2004 Iowa caucus, too. As it turned out, another candidate won that one!)

6. I was listening to the banter
about this on MSNBC while in my office on line. I heard one guy, (Black, don't know his name) say that Obama needs to call Kerry immediately about getting Kerry to share his mailing lists, and donors from '04. ????

7. I would guess it depends
On whether he feels like he can fight the Clinton juggernaut or not. Sad day, really sad day. If Clark doesn't get in this, the country is fucked. I give up on it.

8. We cannot give in or give up.......
Clark and Kerry would not want that from us.

But in reference to this country being fucked...with that I agree!

13. He has tangible ties with Obama and Edwards but I am sure that he
wont forget that when things were on the line Clark and Dean were there for him. Kennedy was too-- and I am sure that if Kennedy wants them to unite to support someone it will carry a lot of weight.

9. I'd give serious thought to anyone JK would endorse.
I don't think that will happen any time soon, but I suppose he'll be out there campaigning for somebody eventually. He's not a stay-at-home type anyway!

10. It's clear to me that he is very invested in
moving the debate on Iraq. He may wait to see how people respond to that before making his decision.

11. Very true. I heard on C-Span his address this afternoon
and thought it was as good as it gets.

Harry Reid called it a "textbook" command. It was.

And not least, it was a blistering attack on a certain incumbent's Iraq war policy.

12. Hopefully not Hillary
I can just see the higher ups at the democratic party trying to force him to endorse Hillary.
