older guys can still rock!

Paul McCartney, 62, gave a fantastic performance at the half-time show, didn't he?
John Kerry, 61, is still giving them hell in D.C.

Both men still have young women screaming for them. When I was younger I wouldn't have even thought once about screaming for someone 30-40 years older than me! What gives? Age is just a state of mind-- that you don't have to buy into.

:toast:

1. Did not see the half-time show.
I don't like McCartney as a solo artist, but the Beatles are one of the greatest.
Yeah, older guys still rock. I dig JK even though he is older than my father. Have you ever heard JK sing?

He definely doesn't look like he's as old as my uncle, looks more like he's anywhere from my godfather's age to my dad's age.

I wouldn't say JE looks in his 20s, but I'd agree that he looks like his late 30's, not 51. Another athletic guy.

9. when I was 20,
men around 60 looked like 75-80 year olds look today. No kidding. People were so much older for their ages then. No sex appeal left.

I was wild for the rock stars who were/are about 10 years older than me: the Beatles, for example. I was born in 1952(same as Cam Kerry by the way); they were born from 1940-1943. That was the start of the Boomer generation, although technically they were known as "war babies". JK is a war baby--but now he's just a "babe", right, WEL and GRLMGC? lol ;)

30. Let's Just Say If He Didn't Know It Before
He sure found out during the campaign women who literally trample each other to get close to that man at times. But I'm like you he has known it for years and while he may not show it he eats it up and doesn't mind at all. I can only imagine certain things about him but it would be interesting to find out!

36. I'll bet he doesn't. I would be suprised if he saw himself that way. He
was considered a dork as a teenager, and wasn't very popular. He looked like he went through an ungainly period and you don't forget that as an adult. Kind of like looking in a mirror and always seeing yourself as fat after you have lost weight! I don't think he relates to a lady killing image at all.

47. I know he was made fun of when he was young
That being all true I guess what I'm really trying to say is over the past 10-12 years. I think he has done better since he has gotten older with that situation. But if he still looked at himself that way say even right up to the beginning of the campaign he surely knows better now that he seen women literally trample one another just to get close to him to touch him in anyway. Hell it use to shock the shit out of his daughters some of the things women screamed at there dad. At times him too. Women get wild as we know and they will sometimes just blurt it out anything. Especially democrats LOL.

I'm the type I like older sophisticated, classy, intelligent men. They have always turned me on and I guess that is why I have always been hung up on him so bad. But I think the older Kerry has gotten he has just got better looking to go with it. Not saying he wasn't good looking in his younger years but for me he has look his best over the past 10-12 years. I loved it when he got his hair cut different and got rid of the wave. Now damn what more could you want.

50. I think the work he had done on his nose and jaw really heped. If you look
at the very young Kerry , you can see they are misproportioned. I think that made all the difference in the world. He is a really gorgeous older man.
But I still don't think , in spite of the passionate women, that he would ever see himself that way.I think that is one of the reasons he was attracted to theresa. I think (know) she mothers him. He could have been a real ladies man.He tried dating the Hollywood stars and all. But it just isn't him. I think.
I beleive he thinks the attention is seperate from him and all about being the nominee.

52. I remember the hollywood chicks
To me they just wasn't him to start with. Kerry is more the type that while he likes being passionate and loved he is also one that likes his personal life kept private. He is not the type to exploit his sex life or brag like a lot of men with their damn ole womanizing egos. I can't stand to hear a man sit around and brag and exploit shit like that. To me that is a major turn off. But if you date the Hollywood types nothing is private all eyes are watching. Definitely not Kerry.

And your right about Teresa mothering him. She really does. She is like his doctor as well. She is the one that knew something was wrong with him after he went for a check up and found out results of blood work that had been done and made him go get more test when they discovered he had prostate cancer. There has been times she packed him food and give it to his aides or drivers and told them to make sure he ate. And if he gets a cold, sore throat, stomach virus, or whatever she was always telling him what to take, when, and how much. So yes she very much mothers him.

One thing that is for sure they make a good couple. He is happier since he has been with her than he ever has been. You can tell that when he is with her. Oh I'm sure they have their differences like any other couple but not many. And one thing that has always been evident and that is John would do anything for Teresa because he loves her that much. That is also why when Evan Thomas of Newsweek wrote that bullshit about her John was pissed and called him and had him come to his place to talk to him.(Can't help but wonder what he said to him) And when that ignorant ass story came out about the intern scandal hell I knew that was pure shit when I heard it. All that shit did was piss a lot of people that knew anything about Kerry off to high heavens. And I also believe if anyone ever messed with John Momma Teresa would open up a can of old fashion whoop ass on them so fast it would make their head spin.

But Teresa is so wild you can't help but love her as well. I use to love to here her get on to John it was cute. I remember one time he was feeling down and was a little depressed. Anyhow John said something but he wasn't saying it to her and she heard him and she slap him on the shoulder and said you dummy you never talked like that before. So she is a wild classy women but at the same time she is still the motherly type to John.

10. It was good. They usually screw things up by trying to be too hip and
throw a bunch of different "stars" up on stage and don't even let them sing their good songs - that was part of the disaster last year.

Paul was great and the Beatles were before my time too (but everyone knows their songs).

saw them! I was older and not quite as bemused when I met the two, so I didn't think about their height except as in comparison to others observationally! But what a thrill for your Mom! I'll bet she has never gotten over it.My god back then, kids were stealing their cigarette butts and hair out of brushes. They sold the sheets off their beds. They were as close to gods as it can get! And to be a fan and see them all together. WOW!

And there could be a difference if Lennon was wearing boots, for instance. He was 5'11" tall, I seem to remember. So that's a 5 inch difference.

I've ever been able to sit through. He did a great job, though George was always my favorite Beatle. Quiet moody type. Hmmmm...

Was anyone else struck by the fact that Paul is a lefty AND a Brit, and Superbowl halftimes are usually reserved for gaudy jingoistic display? Thought they did sandwich the image of the Statue of Liberty in there at the end. I guess they just couldn't help themselves.

29. Hey George was my favorite, too!
In those first few years he was, anyway. Hmm: introspective, thoughtful: George Harrison=John Kerry type??

But when I got a little older, John Lennon was my clear favorite. His energy, sex appeal, intelligence, the creativity, emotion and idealism in his lyrics, and his activism were all part of it.

Never was excited about Paul or Ringo!

Yeah - the John Kerry comparison occurred to me too.

Most of the girls I knew loved Paul, but I found him uninteresting. Ringo was goofy. John was bad - sexy and sarcastic - in a good way. George was introspective and shy, and you never quite knew what he was thinking. He had a sharp tongue but there was a kind of sweetness about him.

Interestingly, when I got older and more musically sophisticated I discovered that a lot of my favorite Beatle songs were written by George ("I Need You", "Something"). They also tended to be written in minor keys, which I love.
