My heart is broke. I have to settle for 2nd best. Who is second best?
Senator Kerry broke my heart today when he announced that he will not seek the Presidency. He realized when he stumbled on the Pronoun in November the lack of Party support he had, even though he raised more money then any member of Congress for 2006 candidates. I will always be a democract, however I will never be blind to the fact that the Democratic Party is very cut throat to their own. His treatment over that stupid joke by his own party was disgracefule. This is not the first time I had to settle for second best. I will always beleive that John Kerry would have made one of the best President this country has ever seen. It saddens me that the Presidency of the United States has become a popularity contest, with the winner be chosen by Corporate Media. The only good thing I see out of this is that the people of Massachusetts will not lose their Gem. Something tells me they are going to keep him for a long time to come. Senator Kerry, I have know doubt will work his heart out everyday in the Senate trying to get our heroes home. He knows something about heroes, because he is one. Please help me figure out who is second best.

1. Here's a page with research links.

I am not planning to pick a "second choice" any time soon. I do like Bill Richardson's diplomatic cred though, and that may be more important than anything else by 2008. I don't know how progressive his other positions are though.

2. I feel the same way. No one comes close to him and I don't like settling for 2nd best.
I might throw some support to Dodd, just for the hell of it. he seems like a decent guy and has been decent to Kerry.

5. I like Clark but he may not run.
If worse comes to worse, rather than sit out the primary, I'll write-in Kerry's name in protest. People get stubborn and onery after living in NH for a while. It's a requirement.

3. I have decided...
...as someone who currently works for Senator Kerry's PAC and political office, that he needs an advocate within the campaign of the eventual nominee.

We CANNOT give up on retaking the party for him.

I made a promise to myself that I would work for him to the best of my abilities. I intend to keep that promise in my own way.

I have lost all faith in the Clintonistas. They have kicked Al Gore to the curb after at least a decade of loyalty to them. They are no friends of Kerry. Any attempt to advocate for him within Hillary's organization is useless, I believe. Obama, who knows. I was convinced, and I remain convinced, that he is actually running for VP. So, I am going to work on Edwards and his people, because I think they have the right idea in general but wish they would lay off the negativity about Kerry. I think they will now; Edwards is a politician but a good person.

JK has not ruled out '12, but I can't look that far into the future. I want him to have as much power as he can have ASAP, which means '08-'09, and I will keep my silent promise to him to bring that about.

4. Why decide now on second best?
There's months of campaigning ahead. I figure I'll both go over the past records and watch what they say over the next several months. It's not long until the first debates. . .
