Hasn't Kerry been trying to run for president since the
mid-90s? I saw this old rerun of "The Awful Truth," with Michael Moore talking about rich guys running for president from, I think 1996 or something, where he mentions JK's name and shows him very briefly speaking at a podium with "John Kerry" emblazoned on it, looking like the recent Kerry for prez signs. (The episode drops JK as soon as his name is mentions and goes on to satirize Ted Turner's run.)
Any you Massholes know more on the subject? Someone in another thread said he didn't run in '92 cos of Tsongas. And then who would go against Gore or Clinton?
All I'm saying is that if he has been trying for over 10 years, I don't see him stopping anytime soon...

1. Hard to answer
Some say forever. Some say since '92. Kerry never really did anything until '04. (Well, possible VP in '00, but nothing came of it.)

John Kerry is not someone who has ever given up easily. (Or he would not have run for anything again after that Congressional race in '72.) He has not had the easiest time of it in MA because of a lot of reasons we have spelled out before. But he never quit. (Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.) I wouldn't be surprised if he is running again. If he does, the next race will nt be like the last one. He will adapt and come back with lesons learned.

2. He's very adaptable, that's why he's so good.
My hope is that he runs for re-election as Senator AND president in '08, like Joementum did in '00, so if he did lose the presidency he would still be senator.
All y'all up there in Mass. tell your good senator that, pleeeease! I am still so sad that JE didn't do like Joe did. JE is so much better than Joe...sniff, sniff! Don't let it happen again.

3. I sincerely doubt a dual race will happen.
That would not be popular with MA voters. I'm not sure if he can under MA law either. (It's vague.) But I really, really don't think the voters would like it and it would not be very popular. I think if Kerry runs for Pres, that is it, you roll the dice and you take the big chance with no backup.

4. That's scary. I'd hate to see him lose his seat.
Oh well, we're lucky that he is still senator until 2008.

7. Bob Kerrey ran in 92. Some people confuse the two inadvertently.

8. His campaign logo has looked like that for years
His campaign logo has always been something very similar to what he used in the presidential campaign. So I wouldn't doubt that he was seen behind many a podium over the years with some variation of that.
