Take another trip around the sun
I found this video over on youtube and it hit me how much these words mean to all of us and how much they truly tell of our journey around the sun with John Kerry. We are still here and we know that we have a true leader and as his followers we are leading too.

There is an interview with Michael Stipe in the first part of the video and he speaks about John Kerry, and then comes the song and photos of John Kerry.

AROUND THE SUN

I want the sun to shine on me
I want the truth to set me free
I wish the followers would lead
with a voice so strong it could knock me to my knees

Hold on world 'cause you don't know what's coming
Hold on world 'cause I'm not jumping off
Hold onto this boy a little longer
Take another trip around the sun

If I jumped into the ocean to believe
If I climbed a mountain would I have to reach?
Do I even dare to speak?--to dream?--believe?
Give me a voice so strong
I can question what I have seen

Hold on world 'cause you don't know what's coming
Hold on world 'cause I'm not jumping off
Hold onto this boy a little longer
Take another trip around the sun

Around the sun
Around the sun
Around the sun
Let my dreams set me free.
Believe. believe.
Now now now now now now

1. Thank you for posting this
That song really really fites and I love the Butler pictures at the end. Was the song written for this - or donated as it was appropriate? In either event it is a wonderful tribute to the Senator.

2. First, thanks Fedup for this -- what a great song and montage of
pics. To answer your question, Karynnj, no, the song wasn't written for John Kerry, but isn't it incredible how much it fits with who he is? Call it one of those wonderful coincidences in life that the song arrived just in time to end the film so poignantly.

But when they closed with the song and the photos of John Kerry, I started balling. I own Going Upriver.....I ball everytime I see that. And have since I opened it the first time.

It shows you the journey of a good, decent man from the days of Vietnam to the United States Senate. What a long journey it has been, and I'm proud to call myself a Kerrycrat.

The R.E.M. song fits well, and I really have learned to enjoy their music again after witnessing that.

Thanks for posting it. I'm going to go wipe away the tears, and rest on my couch assured that John Kerry is going to help bring an end to this tragic and messy war. And I'll do my part protesting and speaking out against it as well. One step at a time, my friends.

 Thanks for posting this.

6. Welcome to the JK forum
Glad you are here. Just remember those tears are tears of hope, inspiration and knowing that our work is not done. JK needs us more then ever now, to bring our troops home.

7. You are right.
Tears of hope and inspiration indeed.

John Kerry is my ultimate motivator. We have important work to get done, and I'm glad this was posted. This gets me into a fighting mood. Time to stand up, and fight for our country back :patriot:

BTW, does anyone remember that John Kerry "Courage" video? I loved that one too.

9. The other good thing that montage brings out
is that not only is he a very good, decent man, but one who clearly makes the most of his life. Looking at the pictures - many of the young people with him are with him today. The pictures with his daughters are wonderful and they are incredibly close to him today, they cut the montage in that segment (from the full one in the movie) so the gorgeous pictures of him with Teresa are not there.

That he can say at 63 that he still has his integrity, is not to be dimissed easily and he knows that he has contributed to this moment on earth. He has definately used the talents God blessed him with. He also is a 4th term Senator, who will easily be re-elected, who has a family that adores him - including an incredible wife. Losing the Presidency hurts, but more for what he could have done.

8. I saw it on YouTube the other day too
The song is beautiful and the pictures are great. I especially love this one. Even Julie thinks that he was cute at that time. ;)
