Schedule today: Just small stuff
I saw JK on the local news last night. He did a speech at Children's Hospital in Boston. He was talking about his "Kid's Come First" campaign and there was local footage on Channel 5. (www.theboston.channel.com)

Finance committee is meeting today. This is from the www.capitolhearings.com web site:

2:15 p.m.
Finance
To hold hearings to examine revenue proposals in the President's proposed budget for fiscal year 2006.

That's all. Not on C-Span that I can see, but the Capitolhearings site does have audio.

Finance Committee web site is here: http://www.senate.gov/~finance/sitepages/2001HearingF.htm/subcommittees.htm

1. Quote on budget submitted yesterday
Sen. John Kerry, Bush's defeated Democratic presidential
opponent, said Bush had reached ``new lows of fiscal
irresponsibility'' by proposing a spending plan that ``takes cops
off the street, hurts veterans and punishes school children while
saddling future generations with record budget deficits and
mountains of debt.''

Yeah, that sounds about right.

2. the man has a way with words--
Good for him--comment on every development, nip at the Bush administration's heels! Keep everyone aware that you are not going away. Make Bush rue the day he ever heard of you!

I caught Durbin on the Senate floor this morning, punching holes in the whole idea that there is a crisis in "frivilous lawsuits". The "hell holes of class action lawsuits" Bush talks about are nothing of the kind: the worst areas only have one or two suits filed per year! The whole thing is another bogus crisis designed to make it harder to sue a corporation.

Even better than Harry Reid saying the budget is "not honest or fair."

and it's mind-blowing.

Did you know the budget deficit is narrowing as we speak?

Crooks and liars, crooks and liars.

7. I just put that on
and I leave at 3:50. So far, Baucus is doing very well.

I wish I could follow the floor debate too on the destroying the right of Americans to sue bill.
