From the Herald (sorry!)

Keeping the USS John F. Kennedy docked here permanently as a floating museum would boost tourism and give Boston two historic naval bookends - “Old Ironsides” and “Big John” - sailors from the carrier and U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry agreed yesterday.
Kerry, speaking to the Herald after a closed-door anti-crime conference at Suffolk University, said the carrier and the USS Constitution would be proud naval tourist attractions. “I think it would be wonderful, superb” for the city, said Kerry. He said he planned to lobby U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy last night, during dinner on the vessel, for keeping the JFK in the city permanently.
Kerry stressed it would be Kennedy’s call on the fate of the carrier. “Big John,” all 1,050 feet, is making a final port of call in Boston this weekend before being decommissioned in Florida and mothballed in Philadelphia.

JFK sailors on shore leave in the city last night said keeping the carrier home in Boston is a no-brainer. “The name will say everything for the city,” said JFK sailor Raul Martinez.
I don't know about you, but I just like reading a story about JK that includes the phrase "Big John." :-)
