John Kerry is More Liberal Than Russ Feingold
The latest rankings from National Journal are out:

http://nationaljournal.com/voteratings/sen/lib.htm?o1=lib_composite&o2=desc#vr

As usual, this is a poor way to judge a Senator. Just take a close look at the specific votes they use and see if this is really how you would rank Senators against each other. However, as they are often cited it is worth taking a look. (A huge difference is meaningful, with Republicans scoring much lower scores than Democrats, but I wouldn't consider this meaningful enough to draw comparisons between different Democrats who might be within ten points of each other.)

One amusing thing I find from them is that Kerry consistently comes out as more liberal than Russ Feingold, and does so again this year.

4. as Dr Ron warned, the voting index doesn't tell the whole story
but HRC is pretty conservative, though. Especially in foreign policy, she's downright hawkish. (I don't go for the IWR-vote litmus test s____, which too many Democrats place way way too much emphasis on. That kind of simplistic, up-or-down thinking is one more data point confirming the dominance of fear and anxiety in our current political culture). But what does matter to me is WHY people cast their votes the way they did, and, especially, what they've said, how they've voted, and especially what they've done since then. ..

5. Thanks, Dr Ron.
I am always so relieved that I'm not the only one who sees JK's true (and very liberal) colors.
