Our own Noisy Democrat has joined the folks at the Unofficial John Kerry Blog and has just published her http://kerryblog.blogspot.com/2007/03/teresa-heinz-kerry-were-all-in-this.html">first post, as Karen van Hoek. It's called 'Teresa Heinz Kerry: "We're all in this together"' and it's a really gorgeous effort in every way -- beautiful graphics, beautiful writing: a compelling introduction to THK's beliefs and work.

I hope a lot of people will get to read this because I think it will show people who don't know much about THK who she really is as a person, a philanthropist and an activist. Comments are welcome, I bet!

I really got a better sense of THK's accomplishments than most articles give the reader. You did a great job of puling the strands of her life and her mission into the strands of the every day woman's life too and intertwining them.

5. Great post on a wonderful woman

I finally had the privilege to meet THK at the book event in NYC last night, so it was great to read this post when I got home tonight. While I fully expected to be in awe of THK, I was moved by what a gentle, yet strong, woman she is.

Your post explains more of Teresa's accomplishments and initiatives than anything I saw in the press in 2004. She is a truely exceptional amazing person. The linked THK newsletter is great.

In 2004, I was amazed by an article in the NYT food section about THK. In the article, she spoke of having to substitute fish for fish that were too high in toxins. At the time, I was amazed that a woman as busy as she was took the time to actually make these changes instead of simply reading the list of fish we shouldn't eat and forgetting it - which I am embarrassed to admit I did. This article shows how making those changes fits who she is.

Imagine what this thoughtful, brilliant woman could have done as first lady.
