Anyone else catch the appearance? I thought he did well and Doris Kerns and Imus had nothing but good things to say about Senator Kerry. The conversation was light for the most part, but interesting simple for Senator kerry being there.
I have tried to find a transcript of the program today, but have been unsuccessful. However, I have located one of the senators amusing comments though.
NEWS QUOTE OF THE DAY #4
Imus: "The Attorney General (Alberto Gonzales) should he go or..?"
Sen. John Kerry (D) Massachusetts: "He should have been gone yesterday."
Imus: "Why isn't he?"
Sen. Kerry: "Because this administration rarely holds people accountable. I think Gonzales has an exit strategy before George Bush does."
Imus: "What is the difference, and I really don't know, what's the difference when President Clinton fired all 93 US attorneys and when they fired these eight?"
Sen. Kerry: "The difference is enormous. George Herbert Walker Bush fired everybody and so did Clinton and it's a tradition when a president first comes in you ask for everybody's resignation, effectively fire them and then you have the chance to select. This is happening six years into an administration. It's happening for political purposes. It is interfering with the judicial system because some US attorneys are not doing what they want to do in order to prosecute people and others are doing things they don't want them to do to their friends. It's wrong, he should go and Karl Rove should go too."
