Sen. John Kerry canceled his UF town-hall forum scheduled for Friday because he said he will be busy on Capitol Hill that day, the head of UF's speakers bureau said.

Accent Chairman Andrew Brown said Kerry called him Tuesday to apologize about canceling and promised Brown that he would come to UF soon. Brown didn't know if the forum would be rescheduled for this semester.

Kerry told Brown that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid mandated that all Democratic senators stay in Washington, D.C., Friday to vote on a number of bills, Brown said.

1. That's too bad - but I guess this happens

It's too bad because it sounded like a great opportunity to speak to students.

2. I was going to post notice of the appearance here, but then I can across an

article that said it was canceled . I believe it will be rescheduled at a later date.

3. In a wierd way, it's a good thing

I'm glad that Reid is making the Senators stick around for votes...
and I will say that is about the only nice thing I have to say about Reid.

Hopefully John Kerry can reschedule.
