Watching the Thursday McCaulfe tribute
Terrible, terrible lighting. John ain't got no eyes! And he's a shade of gray!!

No wonder they thought Clinton looked sick!

2. Yea the pictures of it are better because of camera flashes
it's pretty dark in the room, but their speeches were right on. Clinton brought down the house.

3. watching the replay right now
I love seeing Kerry on TV now. I always end up thinking "That's my President."

Only bad thing is, I get stuck in "what-if" land. Grr. John would have made such an excellent President, but no, people treated the election like a "Who's More Southern" contest instead of a national debate.

Fuck it. I'm not bitter.

Anyway... good stuff. Hope he can stir things up enough in Congress to convince the rest of the party that they should nominate him in 2008 and help him win.

4. yeah, that "what-if" land
I can understand that. It's part of the grieving process I guess.
We'll know we're through it when we stop saying "if only" and just accept a new hopeful vision going out from here. But I still say "if only" sometimes. And yeah, he's my president too--we've got no other.

Now I know what it's like to commit to something, work hard, and not get there. Is this what the Philly Eagles feel like? I can't decide if it's because I've never done this before, or because of the emotion of other people (like that Kid for Kerry in the heartwarmer thread), or because of what's happening to the country and the hateful people who are in charge. All of the above.

I'm listening to Bill Clinton right now. I don't remember him sounding like a preacher when he was president. But this is the second speech I've seen him give (the first was at the DNC) where I felt like shouting "Alleluia, sign it brother". Man, can he speak. He may have a few more wrinkles. He may be alittle weaker, but dang, can he give a damn speech. And I've never been all that excited about him before.

I got alittle sad wearing my Kerry 08 wristband around, because I don't really have anybody around me like you guys, who believe John could try again (okay, I got alot sad. In fact, I'm sitting here in tears AGAIN). So wearing it makes me kind of sad. I suppose I could think of it as a Dem blue band and wear it for that sake. It still lets folks know where I stand. I'm prouder than I ever have been to be a Democrat. I always was, but only vaguely.

I hope Bill's right. Reports of our demise have been exaggerated.

he's just so stuffy, and serious, and aloof. Nobody ever laughs when he's around!
