I haven't heard anything lately about Kerrycrats Boston trip...
...for this summer. Are we still on? Do we want to try to procure a meeting with him? Can I help with anything?

:-)

1. Not sure what the status is
I think we established that most folks would like to come in the last two weeks of August. (Congress is off, Nantucket calls, we'll see.)

Anyway, we should have a person who is collecting names and then I can see if I can find some housing help and such. I did post Hostel info and I can do more. And I will contact Kerry's office, (but he might be gone then. Last two weeks of August is a tough time to find anyone.)

What would you like done!

2. Oh I was just wondering...

what the status was - I didn't mean like "HELLO GET MOVING PLEASE"...
:-)
I will be in school the last two weeks of August, but that is ok - do what is convenient for most, and if I can trek out, I will! Even if it is just for a quick weekend thingie.

4. Not a problem kiddo
It's not much work on my end, a few phone calls, check a few websites. (I live here. No work at all for me. LOL!)

I guess we should have someone take names.

Okay. Who wants to come to Boston in August. (It's humid then.)

Do you need a hotel? (Or a cheaper place, like a youth hostel?)

Do you want info on housing elsewhere in New England?

Okay, besides him, who and what do you want to see round here?

I'll work on it.

5. I also am from MA
Sadly, I do not live there at this time...but I am cool with finding my own lodging and all that - I start school again out here in CA in the middle of August, so would prefer the beginning of the month, or another time, but if everyone else wants to go then, I totally understand...

Just let me know what the plans are, and I will act accordingly!

6. I had a poll up beofre
I will have to go back through the archives and see what we had. I am open to anytime. (Well, I won't be here the first two weeks of August. I am going to Scotland.)

The 3rd & 4th week in July works too! (It's hot then. Temps are usually above 84.)

7. I live in a valley
in CA - temps regularly reach 110-115 and above in summer - it's at least 100 all summer long - so no prob. I LOVE THE HEAT, and being a MA native, there's nothing I love more than a hot beachy summer. The humidity isn't my favorite, but at 85 degrees - totally bearable - in fact I was out there last July and LOVED it.

Bring it on.

Besides, um JOHN KERRY??!!

It doesn't get any hotter than that. I will roast in the furnace that is his love ANYTIME of the year.

8. I'm a Winter
I tend to melt in temps above 74. (Everybody is different. I stay here for the weather. Ah, really. Swear to gawd. Honest.)

I actually think we have an excellent chance of a meeting, depending on how many people get. The more we get, the higher the chances.

Anyway, I will be here. (Except for dates surrounding this: http://www.interaction.worldcon.org.uk/, when I will be in Scotland. And then I am going to Edinburgh.)

Wow! You must have air conditioning year round! That's waaay hot.

13. Scotland! What fun!
I can definitely be there ANY time in the summer, except the last two weeks of August, sadly. Maybe late July would be best? We'll have to see what everyone says.

I'm a summer - I freeze if it is below 80. I have sweats on all summer long if I am indoors and subjected to air conditioning. I really prefer it about 90, dry, and sunny! We don't need AC in the winter, it can get pretty cold here then.

But hey - for John, I'd brave the frozen tundra.

10. Okay, this needs to be before school starts
This needs to be before August 20th ish. Late July would be better for me, personally. Also, DC would be a hell of a lot more feasible for me, but I guess whatever people prefer... I basically just want to see Big John (and, uh, his Ranking Member... preferably alone, no offense to you guys... a closed meeting... in his office.... oh yeah )

SO basically, my vote is for DC late July. I'd need some help figuring out where to stay, too, since I've never traveled b myself.

15. I'd prefer DC, too cos I'm near Baltimore.
However, our family vacations in Maine and we always drive thru MA, though we try to avoid Boston and it's traffic.
I wish I could go back to Boston in August.

14. I have a feeling we're going to end up with 2 trips...
Late August is also out of the question for me to go anywhere, unless it's a fly-by-night weekend whirl that'll completely exhaust me by Monday. I've done that sort of thing before with Washington but regretted it.

But I'll be in DC all summer long and will try to set something up for those who can't do late August as soon as I have more information about what my situation there will be.
