I went around to the AA forums (i.e. BET, Blackvoices.com to take a break from the vile here today) to read how others reacted to Kerry's endorsement of Obama.
Obama is very popular in the AA blogsphere (they dislike HRC/BC like crazy), but since the AP article was posted with the spin (you already know what it is), I decided to get a head start on posting because Kerry isn't popular on this side of the spectrum.
I decided to do post now before the morning bloggers arrive because there were a couple of posts urging Obama to reject the Kerry endorsement because, well, Kerry is still seen as a "loser" and they see his endorsement more as a liability than a plus, and I am actually wary about reading the responses to the article (if their any) because they can be really snarky and vitriolic.
I want to remind people that I respect supporters of Hillary and Edwards alot, therefore, have left them out of this post/opinion.
I know Obama supporters will be quick to bash Kerry

but I like this endorsement. I think it helps Obama with the millitary vote and gives him an experienced person to listen to.
I know people here are still bitter about 2004, but there are many things that have made 2008 easier than 2004 and 2000: Bush is a lame duck, and people are sick of him and the GOP, Rove is no longer in the picture, and the media is starting to come around (not completly, but slowly).
So, I know there will be people that dislike Kerry and say that Obama should reject his endorsement, but I think the opposite.
Though it won't automatically swing a thousand votes to Obama, I welcome all Democrats to help Obama get elected, and Obama supporters should do the same thing, regardless how you feel about Kerry. There are both integrity and classy men.
