It is Teddy's Iowa appearnce with Kerry when he was WAAAAY behind. The Youtube pulls up some interesting 2003-2004 stuff - the Kerry stuff at the end of this is incredible - a perfect antidote to the rewriters of history. Both Kerry ones are great - Kerry had be far the most excited crowd - and I love the grins.

(He almost doesn't sound like the JRE today - this was the event Kerry missed in Feb 2003 because he had surgery near this time - not excacty "Mr President don't rush to war"

and provided a lot of inside and on the ground information about the campaign, especially the Primary. his posts actually made me hopeful about Kerry's chances when everyone else was saying Kerry's campaign was over.

What was interesting over 2003 through now was to see the already positive view of Kerry that Kennedy had in 2003 develop to more than that. It had to hurt Kennedy almost as much as Kerry when he lost.

The weird thing is I saw this thread right after arguing with someone who claimed few ever really liked Kerry. That just wasn't true. I know that the person editing the Iowa video could have takne less than the best of the other candidates - and the best of Kerry - but the Kerry stuff did not include some of what we know was even better - say the Rassman re-union. He really really did connect with people - far more than the others.
