Senator John Kerry is my political hero. The country missed out when he did not become our President in 2004, but Senator Kerry continued to fight ...pretty much unnoticed by the media or the citizenry...for his country.

His leadership in both the 2006 and 2008 elections...unsung as it was...lead to wins for the Democratic Party. And, amazingly, his leadership continues in support of President Obama and his policies, bringing unity to our country, and re-establishing a Washington D.C. culture that works together collegially to do what is best for the people of our country. No elected president could be asked for more.

Even when he has been passed over for President, Vice President and Secretary of State...all jobs to which he is highly qualified...he gets past disappointment and continues the fight. I guess Americans shouldn't be surprised, considering Senator Kerry's history of standing up for what is right. After all, he was fighting for the same goals in 1971 when he testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, a committee he now chairs.

What IS surprising, at least to me, is how he perseveres...quietly, with great purpose, integrity, honesty and determination. And almost NO recognition.
