First of all, I most heartily recommend you peruse this
http://firedoglake.com/2009/05/17/ricks-book-club-hedtk/">liveblog at FireDogLake with Tom Ricks, the author of
The Gamble. I know I have pushed Ricks before, but this liveblog is a pretty good look at the state of what is going on with our military and it's plans for Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq. It touches on the internal arguments between the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of Defense and the argument over the use of Counter-intelligence and it's centrality in these fields of conflict.
There are two hearings this week that are going to be heavy into strategy and I think this liveblog is as good a place as any to get a pre-discussion summary of what is going on. It's worth some of your valuable time to peruse.

The Joint Chiefs and the SecDef are not seeing eye-to-eye lately. I want to see this hearing, it should be really illuminating on both sides.
