Sharing good news!

We have a community here. This is a place where we share our ups and downs, family travails and the good and bad that go on in our lives. I have been blessed to get a lot of support from people in this group through the good and bad in my life in recent times.

So, with your permission, allow me to share some good news. My husband got a new job. He has been long-term unemployed and he just got the news today. (Good salary, full benefits.)

So, thanks to everyone who, metaphorically speaking, rubbed my shoulders, held my hand, spoke comfort to me and helped to get me through a very trying time in my life. (And some of the best of those people are in this group.) Hey, I lived through this, pretty much intact.

...here. I know I have also gained support here during trying times.

I am very happy to hear your news, TayTay. Several members of my family (and some friends) have been dealing with the job loss and 'reinventing' of their lives, too, in recent months. It is a very painful thing to experience...and to watch when people you love are affected.

I am very glad you and your husband lived through this 'intact', as you say. :7 I wish you both all the best. :grouphug:

Congrats Tay, enjoy and relax a bit. I went through something more or less similar last year (my job, but I am by far the main bread winner), truly unemployed (and uninsured!) for only a month, but I knew the job was ending for more than a year and was not able to find anything. When something finally popped up (nice safe job, good benefits, but salary slightly more than half of what I was making earlier) the relief was undescribable. I do not know if I can say that the experience has left me "pretty much intact", but I am grateful it's over. So once again, a big :hug: and enoy life for a change :-).
