New CSPAN tool that gets REALLY old video or text

While looking to see if the Senate was in session, I found this:

All the Senate floor appearances for a Senator! Click on the year and you can get text/video or both for at least some of them.

Check on the 1993 ones -

1. wow-- this is fantastic

The Senate floor speeches have been the most difficult to find in the archives. I'd almost never been able to find Senate floor speeches in the CSPAN video archives, so I'd basically assumed that tapes of these just weren't available . . thanks a bunch for this.

4. The tool has been around for quite a while

it just got better recently. The number of years available increased and the video part got better. And yes, it's a great tool for Senate wonks :-).

5. Thanks - I hadn't seen the ability to get the list by Senator

though I had known that you could get tons of video using the calendar going back to the year wanted. I was going to Thomas and finding the date of a speech (and pulling some text) then going to the calendar to get the CSPAN video.

CSPAN really has done a nice job making these things easily accessible.
