I never would have heard of it except for the Google News Alert after he was already on. Nice to see him in an interview where he actually gets to answer questions without being interrupted. Shows the changing times as well as the respect given to the Chairman of the SFRC.

I'm getting more excited about the possibility of our having two senators from MA and Paul Kirk seems like a good choice for the interim senator, if he is the one chosen. Although I have to reveal my inner Star Trek geek and wonder whether the Massachusetts senatorial delegation has some secret Klingon connection -- nothing but K names -- Kennedy, Kerry, Kirk (well, I guess a Klingon named Kirk would be unusual...) Even the current contenders for the elected seat have the same sound at the start of their names, if not the actual K -- Capuano, Coakley, Khazei...!!! Luckily, they don't act like Klingon politicians.

There really are an unusual number of "K" sounding first letters.

I just watched the town hall and it was exceptional. Now, no one here would be surprised that Senator Kerry was incredibly knowledgeable and articulate, but what was also great was how could the questions and comments were. It showed both how incredibly aware the audience was. It was also interesting to see how easily some provided ideas and information from their experiences to the Senator and how good he was in accepting new ideas and commenting.

Now this, not the town halls dominated by Rush Limbaugh ditto heads repeating their talking points, is an example of real connection of politicians to their constituents.
