Kerry: Reid "gutsy" for including public option (TPM)

Majority Leader Reid is taking the gutsy and appropriate road in fighting for the right policy, something the American people want and an issue on which every Senator should be held accountable. That's why I voted for it in the Finance Committee and why I've advocated for it since day one. Ted Kennedy once told me there were many ways to arrive at health care reform, and he always knew that the first step was in finding every possible avenue to fight for the best policy. Kerry has always been gracious. Reid has been under attack for a week. Maybe it was effective, but it's not the kind of tactics I want to be a part of. I read recently that he and his family were without insurance when he was a kid, so his Dad pulled his own tooth instead of going to the dentist. So, Reid actually knows something about not having health insurance. He just isn't always the best communicator.

1. I think so too. I was surprised that he relented and is going along with this.

I just hope we (the Dems) aren't reaching to far and we end up with nothing.
