Ahoy Matey!
Greetings from sopping, sloppy, slurpy and soaked Massachusetts. Oy! What a mess. I know the recent storms (winter and spring) have brought headaches to folks all over the place.

Soooo, how about some pics! Show me some sunshine and my day will go better. (Well, after I get some donuts in me. Floods and exhaustion always go better with donuts, imho.)

Thanks!

1. Apparently the sun will be there tomorrow and for the week end.

We live on a hill, so floods have spared us, but my son's school is next to a pond, and yesterday, the pond spread on the road in front of the school. Apparently, it is better today and they can have school again.

A few spring pictures from last year

3. Ugh, what a mess - again!

Yesterday our sump pump was overworked and tripped the circuit breaker. No big surprise there, nope. Happens every time it rains more than a few drizzles. Old house, old wiring, I don't know...
Anyway, by the time I notice the water is ankle deep in the basement, the cat litter boxes are afloat, and the water is lapping against the furnace. (One of these days that thing is going to explode because of the flooding).

Now mind you, I don't go into the basement, stand in ankle deep water and push the breaker button back in. That's Tony's job. I'm way too terrified of getting electrocuted. Not sure if that could happen, but still. Luckily he got home from work right around then and got barefoot to do his thing. (I did tell him the last time this happened to get a pair of rubber boots for this purpose).

So it took four hours, and repeated circuit breaker trips, for the pump to empty the basement. Meanwhile, our fat cat had to use the litter box but didn't want to get his feet wet, so he stood on the bottom basement step, aimed his ass over it, and crapped in the water. Lovely.

I'm sick of this frigging rain. 'Oy' is right!

5. in the South East and in Rhode Island, it is pretty bad, with roads and bridges collapsed.
Some of the pictures are really impressive.

Here, there are a few roads closed, in particular close to the Charles River. And it has been raining and raining. It seems to have stopped now.

Can't wait for the sun to come, but at least it is not raining

It's a bit cloudy today, though. I hope you get some warm weather soon. :grouphug:

P.S. Yes, we Californians can be a little bizarre at times! :7

but here's a pic of my nephew taken a few weeks ago before the weather (finally) began to warm up ... for the most part.
