Guess who just hired Laura Bush's ghost writer?

I find it hard to imagine how she will expand the Boston Globe into a book with many pages - unless there are lots of photographs.

Just from the small number of things written, I really do not think Laura has enhanced her image, her husband's image or his administrations. I just read this:

There are a few crumbs of political interest strewn along the way: The usually charitable Mrs. Bush chastises the Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for their “nasty personal criticisms of George,” and she writes that she has often wondered if Jacques Chirac of France or Gerhard Schröder of Germany “could have done more” to prevent the Iraq war, “if one of them could have persuaded Saddam to go into exile, if they could have conveyed that the United States was not bluffing.”


She has the chutzpah to blame France and Germany for the war her husband started. There was ongoing diplomacy when Bush started bombing - it was not a last resort.

I looked over at his temporary website. It strikes me like it is more of a campaign site - johnkerry.com vs Kerry's Senate site. There are no links that provide information on Massachusetts or specific contact numbers on issues. Now, it is less designed than johnkerry.com - and it has less content, but it is all promoting Scott Brown - and is likely paid for out of Senate forms.

I watched the Today show he has there - he is so phony. I mean, he's driving the truck because "it's his only vehicle"?? Now, it is known that he bought it originally to move his daughter's horse (an elitist sport if there ever was one - likely far more costly than windsurfing, with a far more snotty culture associated with it.) So, it is very likely that prior to late last year, it was the vehicle he commonly used.

What is interesting is that people who pointed out that Obama wrote a book before he was even in the Senate ignore that it was intensely personal, thoughtful and not designed as a "celebrity" book - and Obama actually wrote it. Here, from the excerpts, this ghost writer is a mediocre at best writer.

And, for Laura Bush, boy does she have a strange way of looking at things, and a strange way of blaming others for her husband's screw-ups. It seems from her book, it was Bush against the world.
