In case you don't follow the ins and outs of the Red Sox and other local Boston stuff, I'll summarize this latest episode for you. (Consumer warning: I'm working from memory; others may wish to tidy up the details or provide urls, etc).
The retired Red Sox star Curt Schilling is moving his video game company (4 years old, has yet to turn a profit or even produce a single game) from MA to Rhode Island because RI is giving him $75 million in loans.Schilling is a conservative Republican who campaigned for W, and is supposedly strongly against government aid to businesses, but this didn't stop him from shopping his company around to several states for financial deals. He justifies his hypocrisy by saying that it is his duty, to his employees, to look for all possible funding.
The Globe editorial cartoonist Wasserman (one of the best reasons to read the Globe) offers this cartoon today on Republican hypocrisy(not wild about treatment of JK, but he's got Schilling pinned to the wall)
