I shall be taking leave of you all for some days; I'm going home for Christmas and have no idea how often I'll get the chance to check up on DU. After venturing into the GD and Politics forums for a brief, agonizing moment (BIG MISTAKE), I realize again what lifesavers you guys are. This is truly an oasis, a haven, a sanctuary of sanity and sense. Not to mention that I personally believe that we Kerrycrats represent the true liberal-moderate base of this party and that our commitment to liberal values is balanced by reason and pragmatism (unlike some other people who, for example, think Kucinich should've been our candidate.) As Jesus said, "by their fruits shall you know them," and I think all the Deaniacs and fellow radicals' threats to leave the Democratic Party speak volumes. But anyway, let's not think of the leftie fundies during the holidays, but let's instead reflect on the season of peace and joy - now we need it more than ever.
For all you liberal Christians out there, here's proof that Jesus can't stand Dubya & Co:
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?' Then I will declare to them solemnly, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.'" (Matthew 7:21-23)
Finally, regardless of your religious persuasion, I wish you all a blessed, joyful holiday. Peace, Kerrycrats! O8)
