RE “CONGRESS on your corner? Not in Mass.’’ (Page A1, March 26): Your front-page story Saturday left the impression that the Massachusetts congressional delegation is not holding town hall meetings. It turns out your reporters looked only at the current congressional recess week, in which the state’s senior senator, John Kerry, didn’t hold a town hall meeting because, as you might suspect the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee would during military action, Kerry spent those five days in Egypt, Israel, and meeting with our NATO allies.
That’s a little like saying that Dan Shaughnessy doesn’t care about the Red Sox because he didn’t write a column about them on Saturday.
Absent from your article is the fact that Kerry holds regular town hall meetings. These gatherings aren’t just for recess anymore. On Feb. 19 and March 12, the senator hosted meetings in Northampton and Marshfield, respectively, with more than 400 people for lively, heated, spirited discussion. Kerry insisted on staying late to take extra questions, and he’ll keep at it.
I hope that the Globe takes some time to attend the next such meeting.

(Interesting - in addition to most importantly correcting the record on JK- combining the BG claim that NO one in the delegation is holding town halls AND his claim that JK is - readers might correctly notice that the other Senator is holding no town halls - but he is all over the place - mostly out of state - selling his book. )
