SIgn. The reporting of the Globe and in particular of Glen Johnson becomes more and more surreal.

From a report about the Kennedy Institute breaking ground ceremony, this snippet:

Besides more than 500 family members and former staff members, the groundbreaking is expected to attract Senator Daniel Inouye, a Democrat from Hawaii who was in the chamber when Edward Kennedy delivered his maiden Senate speech 47 years ago Saturday. It focused on the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Brown and the state’s senior senator, Democrat John F. Kerry, were also scheduled to attend, as was Republican Edward W. Brooke III, the former senator.

Brown first? Was he given an alphabetic list or what? And Johnson feels necessary to to state who is John Kerry! Surrealist! :banghead:

BTW, thanks to Vicky for not assuming that Brown's reelection is a done deal

She also sidestepped questions about her view of Republican Scott Brown, who replaced her husband in the Senate last year. Nonetheless, she said she is confident the Democratic Party will field a worthy challenger when Brown seeks his first full term in 2012. Kennedy has ruled out being a candidate herself.

“It’s still early, and I think we have quite a few people who are interested, and some very good candidates who are interested,’’ she said.

1. I think it is because Brown had already been mentioned - even though
that did not mean he had to be listed first. I agree that identifying John Kerry was not necessary. I like Vickie's comment there. (I hope they are not letting Brown speak - as he likely would make a dumb joke of it being the People's (not Kennedy's)

2. I think Kerry and Brown did not get to go as they were stuck in DC.

Cam Kerry was there, according to the photos, as were Dodd and Paul Kirk. I wonder if they will be there today.

I cant stand hearing Brown's name anymore these days. After the latest development about the camp he went as a child, we hear his name way too much.

3. I'm not even in MAssachusetts and am sick of his name
It is noteworthy that there was one article where the Boston Globe worked to hide his name. Note that they lump him with the Conservative Democrats who voted for stripping the EPA of many of its regulatory functions - rather than simply saying that he voted with all the Republicans except Collins. (Not to mention, they have no comment function on this.) I guess that makes him look more independent than the lockstep republican he was on this.
