JK mention on Stephanie Miller
Hi all,

I listen at work every day to the live web broadcast of the Stephanie Miller Show, and today, somewhere in the last 15 minutes, there was a bonus payoff. Stephanie had left for the weekend, and the guys were talking about the state of the country. One of them (I'm not sure which - it happened so fast) said something like, "In my fantasy world we're nearing the end of John Kerry's second term as President..." There was general agreement, and then someone started talking about JK's frequent 2004 campaign mention of "Benedict Arnold CEOs" who offshore American jobs, and how JK was the only person talking about that issue.

It's bittersweet, to be sure, but nice to know that there are people out there who are still thinking the same way most of us here think, in spite of 7 years of listening to idiots spout idiocies.

1. Bittersweet, but nice
I felt the same way about the NYT magazine article. It completely rejected two of the lies of 2004. The main one was the kind of person he really is - and the repeated words like honorable, decent, patient and very slow to anger - and especially the description of him ALONE as being accepted in Pakistan as he had humility - and did not act as a potentate - all completely reject the aloof/elitist smear. (Imagine those qualities in a President.) The other was the description of just how hard working he is - not just in making all these trips, but his meticulous preparation.

To me, these are important. Only history will evaluate how accurate his opinions were - and so far his opinions from 2004 were pretty on target. What can be rejected was the subtler smears (compared to the SBVT) of 2004 (and before) on his personality and work ethic.

What is nice about the Stephanie Miller comments is that they are directed to the left. It still amazes me that the left so mistreated the leftmost nominee since Dukakis, who they also mistreat.

2. I know.
I still can't wrap my brain around that - all these years after the fact. I think I remain more disgusted with the way the left behaved in 2004 than with the other side. At least republicans could be expected to do exactly what they did - act like kneejerk, reflexive nitwits. What's the left's excuse?
