Went to the Super Committee hearing earlier today!

My seats weren't nearly as good as last time (MUCH bigger venue, with a whole floor section devoted to media, blocking much of the way..ugh, lol) so my pictures suck-but will share them here when I upload them later on! Couldn't stay for the whole thing-but JK's opening statement was GREAT! :) So eloquent (as always), yet concise and on point. I especially liked how he addressed the need to balance the budget WITHOUT hurting people in the process (i.e not cutting benefits, etc). I continue to feel reassured with JK and people like Clyburn (who also gave a terrific opening today), Van Hollen, etc on board. I just hope their voices are heard in the end..!

Has anyone here seen the whole thing yet or read the transcript? I unfortunately wasn't able to stay for all of the Q and A part, so I missed if JK asked a question (boo! :()

I will try to continue to attend as many hearings as possible while I am here in DC. This is such an important moment!

Again, many apologies for the poor quality--the Hart Senate Building (where the hearing was held yesterday) is twice the size of the Rayburn House Building (where the first one was) and they put the press section across the entire middle of the room so we were much farther back..:/

And, this is 0/T, but myself and my fellow interns got invited to a breakfast event at the DNC today, hosted by Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who we got to meet afterwards! We also got to meet Hilda Solis, who was the honorary speaker! Didn't get a picture with her unfortunately, but we got a group pic with the Congresswoman!:):

4. I've been away for a couple of days...

...and just saw these. They are GREAT. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures and for helping us keep up to date on the hearings. Now that I'm home, I'm looking forward to reading the transcript and watching the hearing.
