Neat little anecdote from Twitter re:JK..
Edited on Sun Oct-02-11 08:43 PM by ObamaKerryDem
This was in MA over this weekend presumably. I found it on a random Twitter search. I just think this is cool because JK is so often branded as "elitist" and out of touch..yet he takes the ferry (hey he could've just used "his yacht".. :eyes: ) and waits in line like everyone else!:

amolyajnik @erniebufflo I'm not talking to him, we're waiting in line for a ferry. Everyone is letting him be, quite refreshing.

?????

amolyajnik I'm standing next to John Kerry right now, he's taller than I thought he was.

Next time I run across someone else branding JK in that way or comparing him to that REAL "elitist rich snob flip flopper" Romney, I will cite this as one example to add to the many others previously discussed on here that directly refute that.

Plus this was just a neat little tidbit to share in general. :)

1. cool
There were earlier stories of Kerry at airports and on planes taking his turn just as anyone else. Totally not surprising. What was surprising was that in spite of the fact that he obviously was a gentleman with far better manners than most, the never really sourced reputation of not waiting in line or otherwise acting rudely was perpetuated - often using stories that were first used against others or twisted cases where he DID have preferred access.

4. Exactly! The only things I've heard to the contrary were snide remarks
on FR and similar sites, that were probably either wholly made up or exaggerated to make him look bad. But every experience I have had with/around him and every one I've observed or heard about from any sort of objective or reliable source has shown JK to be a gracious, considerate gentleman, one who does NOT use his fortunate economic or social standing to step on others. He's amazingly approachable and down to earth (as you all already know firsthand:)). I just wish more people--even some on our side of the aisle-- could or WOULD see this about him..*sigh*

3. Nice anecdote. I wished people stopped their meme about Kerry, but it is very
unlikely it will ever happen.
