Political Personality Test
Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 01:47 PM by whometense
Just for fun. Here: http://www.iop.harvard.edu/research_political_personality_test.php

Here's me:

You are a Traditional Liberal. Traditional liberals like you tend to be:

Against pre-emptive strikes as a policy.
Strongly supportive of gay rights.
Of the belief that immigration has been good for this country.
Supportive of affirmative-action.
Oppose tax cuts as an economic policy.
Of the belief that basic health insurance is a right.
If you are interested in seeing the full results of the IOP Spring 2005 survey and past surveys, click here. To see descriptions of the other political personality clusters, click here.

Thank you for participating in the IOP Political Personality Test. We hope that you now better understand how your beliefs compare to other college students and that you use this information in the upcoming election.

Shocker.

1. I am your twin
Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 02:56 PM by TayTay
Ah, I am a Gemini, after all.

(Hey, we were right last week when we said that JK was looking sharp. We noticed before it got out into the greater population of DU. We are really keyed into even physical changes. Is this scary or what?)

8. Kerry-watching: long term hobby
How many other lucky constituents get to watch a senator who is as easy on the eyes as we do? And smart? And funny? Have to go fan myself now.

9. Yeah, but it sure is interesting
to see all the comments outside of this forum on how good our Senator looks. And he is smart, and focused and funny. And wicked good in committee where he can kick some Rethug ass. (Was it me or was it extra, extra sweet yesterday to see Neanderthal Sen. Allen trying to figure out what the Voinovich defection meant. He was really sweating bullets trying to figure out what it meant when you couldn't ram the nominee through with overwhelming numbers.)

He's so damned slick and smug, it was delightful to see him expose his own stupidity in public like that.

Coleman too. And how totally pathetic was Chafee???

11. Chafee: If I pay the toll can I visit
my balls sometime? I really miss those guys and would like to visit the jar where the Rethugs have put them, just to know they are still there.

Honestly, what a spineless jelly-fish. I would to have seen his face when he first heard that Kerry had sent out his e-mail asking people to deluge his office with anti-Bolton messages. Must have been priceless.

Someone somewhere wrote today that Chafee reminds them of one of the Larry Darryl and Darryl characters from Newhart.

13. I think he looks like
Charles Nelson Reilly. (I'm old. Do you remember him?) Or a duck. I'm not sure which is predominant.

21. Chafee is so damn spineless
I remember watching the the repeat of the first hearing on the Bolton confirmation and when it was Chafee's turn to ask questions, he seemed almost timid, like he was afraid to ask Bolton any hard line questions, and I'm thinking to myself, this guy is a Senator? He looked and spoke like he was afraid of his own shadow.

My 14 year old is too. Her reaction to me saying, "I'm traditionally Liberal"was "and you needed a test for that".

I thought it was amusing they didn't have a category for "progressive". Does that mean it doesn't exist?? ;-)

7. Traditional Liberal here.....
.....I took another test to see what political figure your like. I got HILLARY CLINTON FOUR TIMES!!!! ARGGHH!!! No offense to Hillary, but I was hoping they would say I'm like Barbara Boxer, Barack Obama, or perhaps John Kerry *sigh* But anyway, this personality test said I'm a traditional liberal.

18. We're all Traditional Liberals, and all Kerrycrats, so
I guess that would make John Kerry a Traditional Liberal

But he doesn't like labels, so...nevermind! ;)

He's a John F. Kennedy Democrat--I guess that's pretty traditional! :P

I remember taking a test like this during the campaign, but it matched you up with the candidates, I matched 100% with Kucinich and I think 96% with JK. You know who I went for.

JOHN KERRY :applause: :applause: :applause:

24. I gave my husband the test--mixed results
He gave mixed answers--some liberal, some conservative. He's more socially conservative than me, but voted for Kerry because of *'s war and his fiscal follies. But the test said he was a Traditional Conservative, and he's not. He's against blending church and state, and he's against preemptive war. I'd call him an Independent.

So the test has its flaws. It would need to be far more extensive to really be a true test.

25. Definately a test with little meaning
It deals with far too few questions to mean much.

There's also the problem that thw whole left-right spectrum is so flawed. As an opponent of the Iraq War am I on the far left like Howard Dean (who really isn't on the far left), like Kucinich who really is more to the left, or is this like Pat Buchanan who is nowhere near the left?

I wound up as something like a secular centrist. On some issues I'm to the left of the Democratic Party, and on some issues to the right. Some such on line surveys put me on the left rather than center just by having more questions on more issues where I'm more to the left of the Democrats.
