A question about getting around in Boston... (Tay, Rox, Whome?)

In the event that we were to take the MBTA Commuter Rail into town, which stop is the one we need for Harvard Square? In the event that we drive into the city, is there a public lot or paid parking structure nearby that we ought to park in that you can suggest? We're coming from Southeastern MA.

1. Take the 'T'

I believe it will cost you around $4 to park in Braintree. It will cost you $2.50 to get on the Red Line (each way.) Take it all the way to Harvard Square stop. Get out and look for the big open space just before lofty Harvards gates. We can meet there.

Don't drive. It's pointless and it will cost way more to park in Harvard Square than you will spend on the T and Parking. And the T is easy and accessible.

Looking forward to it. Whome works in that general area. She can tell us where the best place is to actually meet. I haven't been in Harvard Square in about 5 years, and Whome will be more up to date on what still exists there. (Not the Tasty, BTW. Damn them all to hell.)

4. Are we meeting in Harvard Square now?

I thought it was Lexington. I'm confused!

The Red Line actually costs $1.25 each way (for amusement, read this hilarious Boston Globe piece on the subject from the other day.)

The place I work is at the edge of Harvard Square. There are lots of decent restaurants there - let me know what kind of food you're interested in. We could meet in front of the Au Bon Pain right next to the T stop. Are we still meeting at noon?

Vektor is coming in from the Cape and doesn't want to go to Lexington. (Too many directions, not publicly accessible enough by bus or T and so forth. I don't blame her.)

I can make Harvard Square, it's fun and I haven't been there in a while. Vektor likes it, I think she is coming from down the Cape aned will return to the Cape. Why mess with traffic and trying to find a parking space? (And there is an extra charge for the T when you get on in Braintree. Not sure why, but there is.)

I think this is easiest on all and means we will actually all meet. So good old Harvard Square it is!

I like any kind of food, but really love Mediterranean the best. I will however eat just about anything. I am trusting a local to pick, so make me proud!

We are going to drive into Braintree and park and ride the Red Line to Harvard. Should be fun. Yay!

I spent my summers in Mt. Shasta, I still have family there. And I'm probably 2-3 hours north of Crescent City now. Speaking of hicktown, I grew up in Fresno, hehe. It wasn't hicktown then, it was an All American City that went out of its way to introduce integration programs, etc. Weird how things change.
