Nice article(s). I love the expressions on the faces of the people in the background of the photos. (And on Schweitzer's face as well.) Their expressions and body language looks like they are standing in the presence of the POTUS. (Sigh, to me they are.) I'm glad that Kerry is having some fun and enjoying his recess!

Later, Schweitzer took off his "It's a new day in Montana'' bolo tie and gave it to Kerry, who immediately put it on. Schweitzer's only condition was that Kerry had to wear it on the Senate floor, which Kerry he happily agreed to do.

...Kerry calls it a Listening Tour. *g* Isn't that great! He put his motorbike on a Pickup truck and drives through the US, having a great vacation and doing some political work at the same time. What a difference to Bush at the "ranch"!

As if the media, Schweitzer and Kerry all just sort of accidentally happened to show up at the Montana State Capitol in the middle of August. Gee whiz, what a figgin coincidence. LOL!

So how long to you think it will be before Kerry has looked into the coal technology mentioned? He really seems to naturally soak up information. In a time when we need creativity to get out of the impossible mess we're in, we need a President with Kerry's curiosity and ability to rethink things.

8. I wouldn't be surprised if he already knew about it

He really is a bit on the geeky side. In his home state, that is a plus. Honest. Well, at least among the MITers, UMass-Lowellers and other assorted institutes of higher learning students.

In all seriousness, I would be surprised if he didn't know about it (at least via a briefing.) This is the kind of interesting minutia that just grabs him.

Again, he is wicked smaht. And part of being wicked smaht is that insatiable curiosity and the inner delight that comes from just learning new things. Honestly. Kerry lights up like a Christmas tree around new facts, news, stories and info. It's his thing. He does the State proud in my opinion, makes us all look a bit brighter.

9. His encyclopedic range of knowledge was obvious

throughout his campaign. Even against a brighter opponent he would still have been awesome in the debates. What impresses me the most about Kerry is that he seems to be able to see things at different levels at the same time. I loved his answer on energy, because he was able to explain how developing new technology could be part of the solution for energy, jobs and the environment, as they were all inter-related.

What surprised me after the election, was that he was different in the Senate. He seems to have so many very different areas where he is so incredibly knowledgeable. I expected that on the Foreign Relations committee, which was obvious from the first debate. Didn't the Bush campaign think of asking Lugar before they felt this would be a Kerry weak spot? What was surprising was that on the Finance committee it seems that even the witnesses (and even sometimes the Republicans) often refer to Kerry's points. His questioning also seemed by far the most effective.

I worked with several people who went to MIT and similar schools and know exactly what you are talking about.

in a pickup truck pulling a trailer with his motorcycle on it.

I don't know any of the details but it was obvious that Imus was back on the Kerry cheer-leading team for a while.

I remember remarks coming from Imus after his interview with Kerry saying things like "I am really trying to like him" and "I couldn't get a straight answer out of Kerry". grrrrrr.

What is it with Imus that I have such a hard time understanding him.
Is it just me, or do any of you have that problem?

He is inconsistent and does as much harm as help.

He was with Kerry personally so he liked him but the next time some stupid and inaccurate rumor slamming Kerry starts, he will just assume the worst and go with it.

At least that has been my take on him.

Heinz Kerry stumps for Idaho governor candidate in tony Sun Valley

KETCHUM, Idaho Jerry Brady, the eastern Idaho newspaper publisher who's running for governor in 2006, got a little fund-raising help from a prominent Sun Valley woman.

Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of the former presidential candidate John Kerry, was stumping for Brady at an event in Ketchum.

She has a house there.

Among Brady's possible Republican opponents, only U-S Representative Butch Otter says so far he's running for the top Idaho post.

Brady garnered only 42 percent of the vote in 2002 when he lost a previous bid for the governor's job to Dirk Kempthorne.

Heinz Kerry says she thinks Brady's campaign is far ahead of where he was three years ago when he lost.

Brady's family owns the Idaho Falls Post Register in Idaho Falls.
