Kerry visits Schweitzer on tour

HELENA - U.S. Sen. John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, stopped by the Capitol on Thursday to visit with Gov. Brian Schweitzer as part of a national "listening tour" but deflected any questions about running for president in 2008.

A relaxed Kerry was on his way to his vacation home in Ketchum, Idaho, during the congressional recess. The Massachusetts senator entered the Capitol rotunda to the warm applause of Schweitzer's staff as the governor walked down the hall to welcome him. Then the two men greeted some surprised people touring the Capitol.

Kerry peppered Schweitzer, his staff and state Sen. Mike Cooney, D-Helena, who had stopped by the Capitol to pick something up, with questions on state and national issues. He asked Schweitzer how the state would deal with the Bush administration's proposed Medicaid cuts.

"This administration, while they talk the talk, there's no walking the walk," Schweitzer said. "They put additional demands on the states with no new money."

I was at the Philly rally on 10/25. Definitely not a "piece of wood" there.

I saw the 3 general election debates, and several of the primary debates. Nope, not a piece of wood there either.

Then when he's actually not working, like at the Tour de France, or when he's riding in charity bike rides (like he's been doing for years, not to "fucking pander" before you fucking say it), YES he's a normal guy. And you know what else? My solidly middle-class coworker - gasp - windsurfs! Just like that "fucking elitist" Kerry! (Try being a "piece of wood" while windsurfing. Doesn't work well.)

You obviously don't know anything about him. Why are you repeating right-wing talking points? Is it because they happen to be Markos' talking points too?

See if I ever buy your book Kos, you friggin limp piece of bitter bile-filled crap. Why would I want advice on how to grow the grassroots from a guy who 'eats his own.'

(To be posted on Amazon soon as a book review. Yeah, I keep a grudge.)

(Okay, I think I'm officially in a bad mood. That is the 4th insulting and crabby comment by me in a row. Somebody either needs a hug or for her children to come home soon from their concert. This is the longest trip my son has ever been the driver for. I think I am having an anxiety moment.)
