Meetup info for Sept 24th in DC: Who is going from this forum
Can people check in and say whether or not they are going to DC for the Peace March on Sept. 24th. There are meetup poosibilities and people are starting to finalize plans.

Just a note that says you are. We can see from there what happens next.

7. I can't go.
I was planning on attending this and staying with my brother and his family in McLean.

Just found out last night that isn't possible. He and his wife just filed for divorce. There are two kids ages 4 & 5 involved. It is not a good time to go down there right now. It just isn't.

I just don't have the money right now to make other arrangements. I am sorry. Cindy Sheehan will be in Boston on 9/17 and I will see her there and show my love and support. I will see if I can scrounge up some money and send it to http://www.unitedforpeace.org/ so in some way, someone else can go. I guess it's something.

Again, I am sorry. I know this is small potatoes compared to what is going on in the Gulfport, but I am a bit down right now.

8. Crap, crap, crap
I was really looking forward to protesting with you. :-(

Hell, we just live down the road from each other. We should try to meet up some time soon. PM me if you have some free time over the holiday weekend.

9. W3e did protest together, we just didn't lknow it
Talk to Cindy a couple of weeks ago in Lowell. Wish I had posted something about it in here.

I am so sorry for this. But I can't go. And I really had no idea that they were so close to breaking up. I am heartbroken. Everything just seems to be piling on.

11. I'm so sorry.
But we have to stay strong. And if that means backing off for a bit and tending to other matters, so be it.

13. No. My Democrat brother who contribute $$$$ to Dems is
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 12:58 PM by TayTay
The one who adopted both of his kids and who spent time and money supporting Kerry last year. One of his kids was adopted from a Mom who was 16 and had two other kids she could not care for adequately. (This child is 3/4 American Indian.) The other child is developmentally disabled and he was also adopted from a family with a teenage Mom and other kids.

It breaks my heart.

14. I'm so sorry to hear that.
About your brother's family, and that you can't go to DC on the 24th.

I don't know yet if I will go. Either way, I can at least offer a way station midway to DC (from Boston) in the SW burbs of Philly, if that would help. PM me if it is just a logistical ($) issue. I also have kin closer to DC, and if I go, I could maybe impose on them.

15. Let me see
It' getting late to make arrangements. Cindy Sheehan is in Boston on 9/18 (I think) and there will be a big rally. And there might be something here the following weekend as well. (and I promised my son that I would take him to colleges to look around for next year and time will start to get real compressed real soon.)

And I can do things locally. In fact, the rally has to mean something locally. I live in a red part of a blue state. That means that no matter how much I march for Cindy I still have to translate that into talking to my friends and neighbors who still like Bush. So, just because I can't go doesn't mean it's over.

Baby, it's just begun. One road gets blocked, you damn right and well find another. That's just the way it is.

16. I like your spirit!
Just keep the offer in the back of your mind. You need to stay near Philly, let me know and we'll make room.

I love all the wonderful, amazing, caring and concerned people on this board.

I honestly think I would have gone insane this week without you guys. Stark raving mad or burst an aneurysm or something.

Thanks so much to everyone!
