Just checking back in after the storm. Luckilly Katrina had weakened by the time it got here. We lost power and cable for a short minute, as well as a few tree limbs, but everyone is fine.

We were supposed to get the rain and windy stuff from Tropical Storm Katrina, but she had weakened by the time she got here. We had rain/wind Monday night and early Tuesday morning, but the only thing we lost were tree limbs and lots of leaves.

Today I also found out that some of our relatives may have been in the path of Katrina (right outside of Biloxi, Miss), so it's just wait and see now.

Sounds like it was pretty scary though, losing power and tree limbs down. I imagine there are many areas that are hurting, just don't know because of how bad the gulf is. Glad you are safe!

I glad it didn't either. Even though we are on higher ground, the potential for flooding was there. All those disaster images are making us count our blessings.

This is such a tragedy, it is terrible to read and listen to the news reports. The incompetence of the disaster response is stunning.
