i don't think he really understands it or doesn't want to.

in an individual sense everyone who was hurt is equally a victim.

but for those living in New Orleans the damage goes much further than even having lost your home. it's dangerous even for people to just go there now. and to make it worse the alternative to staying in NO because of the failure in response has actually been worse for some.

i do appreciate his mentioning JK and the poor nations that helped.

5. We have to be careful - people in MS were in terrible situation also

particularly in rural MS. There were plenty of people who still had no relief (food or clean water) on Saturday. Simply, the media were not there to show. In addition, it seems that the violence was largely exaggerated as a way to make it people in NO responsible, even if the situation in the superdrome and the convention center were clearly by far the worse, if anything because of the accumulation of people.

This said, Lott is an idiot.

even if it is his own state. it's true about the media not reporting it. to show the problems in Mississippi would mean to admit it's not jaust a matter of "if we only had a mayor like Giuliani" .

while i disagree with Lott about so many things i know on some issues, especially those involving a personal connection he can be pretty good. such as when he brings up his mother and issues like social security.

this is kind of weird and it's probably not even saying much but i have more faith in Lott to do the right thing than Haley Barbour. i don't trust Barbour at all.

we would have to create him. He adds just the right note of idiocy to any conversation. I feel so bad for the good people of PA that they have to put up with this doofus. I am pulling for Santorum to get his ass whomped next year so the fine PAers can be free of him.
