AFL-CIO. BTW would a corporationist have a 90% lifetime record from the AFL-CIO, his AFL-CIO record is actually higher than Dick Gephardt's, now to be fair, Gephardt in the mid 80's changed from a very moderate all around to a more populist dem. I was surprised to see him get called a DLC corportatist when Gephardt was the biggest champion the working person had. I wanted him to be Kerry's sec of labor. I think Kerry lost some points on his AFL-CIO grades perhaps because of his support of NAFTA and PTNR with China.

He has a highly respectable record as a consistently progressive vote in the Senate. Consistently progressive. That's what made me so mad about the smears. They never should have stuck. There is consistency there.

Some of the labor stuff is and has been a problem in the past in MA. Could be better. I am deeply hoping that Kerry continues to see the problems inherent in UnFair Trade. That is the basis of the up and down labor votes. Pointing out the inherent problems with the tax code that favors outsourcing is a good thing to do. I, as a constituent, will 'push' for more.

he can be a shadow president for us all. A kind of moral leader for the grassroots, to see us through until the sun shines on the Democratic party again.
