I read cards. Or, more appropriately, I use cards to try and capture jigsaw pieces and fit them together. It functions like a sort of Rorschach test for me and I get to figure out what's on my own mind. I especially do this when I have something on my mind and I can't put my finger on what it is. It's a focusing tool for me. Your mileage may vary.
We have a few folks on this site who read Tarot cards. Well, I keep coming up with readings like this when I query on Kerry (Hey, I like that rhyme.)
The Two Paths spread provides insight into an important decision ahead of you, the possible outcomes, and the forces that draw you toward each of these outcomes.
The top left card represents the first possible outcome. Nine of Wands (Strength), when reversed: Delayed preparations for an impending trial. Efforts compromised by traitors or saboteurs. The scattering of forces before the conclusive battle is fought. Ill health and faltering of the will.
The top right card represents the second possible outcome. The Emperor: Worldly authority and power. Social mastery and oratory. One who is intelligent, experienced, confident and reasonable. A patriarch or primary male influence. The motive force of politics and society. The ability to fulfill plans and use mental control over the emotions.
The middle left card represents the force drawing you toward the first possible outcome. King of Wands: The essence of fire behaving as air, such as lightning: A great and daring leader who inspires others to rise to challenges alongside him. An artist who can take hold of an idea and make it a reality through bold action. One who is forceful, charismatic, and honest, leading by example, but unafraid to invest authority in others. A dashing and magnetic personality, carrying authority naturally, and striking at the world with swiftness and grace.
The middle right card represents the force drawing you toward the second possible outcome. Nine of Swords (Cruelty), when reversed: Mental anguish or ill health endured and overcome. Refusal to be dragged down by the dishonor of others. Attempting to avert a shameful or regrettable act. Faithfulness, patience and unselfishness. May indicate the narrow avoidance of a death or other catastrophic loss.
The bottom card represents the critical factor that decides what will come to pass. Four of Cups (Luxury), when reversed: New and unusual relationships and opportunities. The reawakening of your appetite for life or love. The path of excess leading to spiritual rejuvenation and the appearance of novel ambitions.
I used www.facade.com cuz I kept getting my own cards with all kings and knights and the Emperor. And damned if they didn't come up again. Sigh! (Okay, that's it, I'm only using the Baseball Tarot from now on. I love that deck.)
So, when you guys are playing around, what the hell are you getting. Cuz this stuff is so odd. (And kind of scary.)
