Or use the Thomas site and look for Bills introduced

US Senate Bills

Please forgive a bit of regional pride, but hot damn, I'm so glad he's my Senator. I am wicked, wicked proud. This is great stuff.

1. I'm surprised the communications
bill doesn't have any co-sponsors. This issue would appear to be a complete no-brainer. Wouldn't it?? Anyone????

2. It's brand new.

It might pick up a few throughout the day. I found this when I was looking for something else. (Story of my life, sigh!)

It's just wonderful. A bill to help with vacines and to bring the laws up to date is a good in and of itself. The idea to bring some thought to bear on solving the problem of what happens when communications go out in an emergency is also just wonderful.

I am so damned impressed today. Every piece of legislation he has offered since the Senate came back on 9/6 has been just great. Again, proud Masshole here.

5. Wow! Thanks for the support
I honestly didn't see these bills yesterday. I saw them today, kind of by accident. (I was honestly looking for something else. Blush, blush.)

And I am so smitten tiwht the author of these bills. Sigh!

6. Yeah - we did it! TayTay is now on the Greatest !
We need to keep reminding everyone that there is someone
fighting for us. Kerry is #1, he is awesome, and other than immediately after the election, hasn't stopped. He is the same Kerry that everyone rallied around last year. His message hasn't changed one bit.

(I just needed to see his face-he motivates me!)

7. PR: Vaccine bill
U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Dick Lugar
today introduced bi-partisan legislation to accelerate the
development of vaccines for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and
other infectious diseases. Senator John Kerry (D-MA) joined Lugar
to author the Vaccines for the New Millennium Act of 2005.
Representative Pete Visclosky (D-IN) will introduce the
companion legislation in the House of Representatives later today.
Combined, AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria kill an estimated 5
million people a year. Yet there are no vaccines for these
diseases. While we must remain committed to current prevention and
treatment programs, we must also look toward the future to see what
hope science has for preventing the spread of these diseases, said
Lugar, who is being honored tonight by YouthAIDS for his leadership
in responding to the international HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Nice. But Lugar is taking credit for this as well.

US congressmen ask Bush to raise issue of Bangladesh political violence at UN

Source: BBC MONITORING INTERNATIONAL REPORTS
Date: September 15, 2005

Text of report by staff correspondent entitled: "16 US lawmakers write to Rice;
Ask Bush to raise Dhaka's political violence at UN world summit" by Bangladesh
newspaper The Daily Star website on 15 September

Sixteen US senators and representatives, including senior senators Edward M.
Kennedy and John F. Kerry, in a letter have urged Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice to recommend President George W Bush to raise the issue of
political violence in Bangladesh at the ongoing UN world summit.

The senators said that initiatives to prevent "catastrophic terrorism" will be
discussed at the summit, and the possibility of Bangladesh becoming "a failed
state and a base of operations for international terrorist organizations should
be part of those discussions".

According to the letter, nine US senators and seven representatives said that
they are concerned that Bangladesh has become increasingly plagued by political
violence and instability.
